Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award | Kristjan Lind, CEO and Co-founder of Bikeep
Bikeep is a product developed by young Estonian engineers in response to a real problem – bicycle theft. The history of Bikeep began in 2013 when the first prototype of a smart bike rack was developed. Today secure bike parking systems can be found in Estonia, Byelorussia, Ukraine, Hungary and the United States.

Technological Innovation Award | Competence Centre on Health Technologies
The Competence Centre on Health Technologies (CCHT) is a biotechnology company established in Tartu in 2009. In collaboration with Karolinska Institutet in Sweden and the University of Tartu research team, CCHT developed a novel gene technology method, which they named GlobinLock and which makes the analysis of blood samples considerably simpler and cheaper.

KOKO Architects is an architecture bureau founded in 2000. The bureau has produced many solutions for buildings in the centre of Tallinn, as well as Riga and Jurmala in Latvia, Germany and Norway. Innovator of the Year | Reklaamilahenduse
  • Mr. Indrek Kaing and his company Reklaamilahenduse OÜ have created tennis shoes with traditional Estonian folk design elements. Tennis shoes with traditional Estonian folk design patterns were created with the goal of reawakening Estonian beautiful national designs and using them in a contemporary applications. Mr. Kaing together with his project seek to use old patterns and motives in a surprising and yet unused way, preferably suitable for daily use. The project started with five different designs for tennis shoes and was shortly followed by four different design baby shoes. Products were received extremely well and due to public demand new items will soon be available. Each design is labeled with the name of the parish where the pattern originated.

Technological Innovation of the Year | Altechna R&D
The company has developed, patented and licensed to a globally known brand – Corning Incorporated – a method for using the ultra-short pulsed lasers for dicing the material in a very precise and controlled manner. This technology has already significantly increased exports, resulting in 20% revenue growth during the last two years. The glass materials processed using the method will be seen in smartphones in a very near future.

CSR Initiative of the Year | Lattelecom
Lattelecom’s project “Get Connected, Latvia!” aims at reducing the digital gap and the social alienation of senior citizens. The initiative promotes the Internet and modern technologies to elderly people by presenting the benefits of the use of modern technologies in everyday life. By the end of 2012 more than 6000 seniors will have attended computer literacy classes.
Young Entrepreneur of the Year | Erenpreiss Original, Toms Erenpreiss and Viesturs Masteiko
The company is based on the legendary Erenpreiss brand that was created in 1922 by Toms’ great-great-uncle, Gustavs Erenpreiss. In 2006, Toms Erenpreiss opened the first bicycle workshop and in 2010 Toms founded Erenpreiss Original. Today the company is successfully assembling and selling four models of city bicycles in Latvia. Bicycles are also exported to the UK, Sweden, USA, Switzerland and other countries.
The winner of Environmental Award | Spodriba
Spodriba is the largest household chemical producer in the Baltic States. The company has made considerable investments in manufacture of a new environmentally friendly household product line “ECO SEAL FOR NATURE” which stimulates consumer awareness of ecological products in the Baltic Sea region and does not contain phosphates, dyes, allergens, or other harmful additives. The packaging is reusable and recyclable and Spodriba has requested certification of the new product line from the eco label “Ecoflower”.
